Feldman to Lead American Neurological Association
September 22, 2011
Allison Gandey
Eva Feldman, MD, will serve a 2-year term as president of the American Neurological Association.
The director of the A. Alfred Taubman Medical Research Institute and professor of neurology at the University of Michigan is best known for her work in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Considered a national leader in neurological research, Dr. Feldman has an active clinical practice and has been listed among the Best Doctors in America for 10 consecutive years.
"It's a great honor to lead a distinguished group of neurologists who share my mission of furthering the research and education that will enable us to find ground-breaking therapies and cures for diseases of the nervous system," Dr. Feldman said in a news release.
She follows in the footsteps of the late Russell Dejong, the long-time head of the University of Michigan medical school's neurology department, who also served as American Neurological Association president in 1965.
Dr. Feldman will take the helm of the 1800-member association September 27 at the American Neurological Association (ANA) 136th Annual Meeting, held this year in San Diego, California.
